In science ,what is the first to form,the chicken or egg?

i am a christian and for me the chicken is the first creature..but in science what is the best explanation?

I have no idea, but when GOD created animal I would have to assume that means the chicken.

uh.........isn't it egg? afterall.....chickens hatch from eggs.......

I would say the egg... Cause it's been around since before chickens. You know... you can still believe in evolution even if you are christian. I'm catholic and we're fine with it.

Egg-laying animals pre-date the domestic chicken by many millions of years. So strictly speaking the egg came first - it just wouldn't have been a chicken egg. It wouldn't even have been a bird egg. If you're stipulating chicken eggs only, the issue becomes fuzzy - it's hard to draw a clear line between closely-related species, so where would you say a particular bird stops being a red or grey junglefowl (the ancestors of the domestic chicken) and starts being a chicken?
