  1. I've seen this happen several times at low limit Stud at Foxwoods.  On each street a card is burned before before dealing to the players.  In the event all eight players go to the 7th card, the dealer identifies the situation and alerts the players that a community card will be used. The dealer then shuffles the burn cards and places the card face up in the middle of the table.  All players will use this card to complete their hand.

  2. Either more than one deck is used, or that many players aren't allowed in the game to begin with (usually the ladder, since adding more decks screws the probabilities of hands)

  3. There is a community card when there are not enough cards left in the deck to deal one to each player. If you play Stud online, you'll occasionally see a community card used on the last street. That doesn't happen very often, though, because you'll typically see at least a few people fold before they get that far.

But...yeah. Everybody uses the community card to make their best hand. That's the fairest and easiest way to do things. Adding another deck? Never going to happen. Then you would have hands like six Aces. Ugh. That's not poker.

  4. Yes they turn up a community card. I only saw it happen once in a casino poker room. Also don't forget they burn cards between each dealing round so they would run out with only 7 players in till the end. They shuffle the burn cards to get the community card.

  5. The last card is turned face up and is community.

  6. There has to be more than one deck at hand.  probably 2, 4, or even 6!
