  1. Ships don't have a designated place, you just have to find out when you get there. Every ship should have a "means of escape diagram" and it should include primary and secondary exits from each area, maximum amount of people, escape routes, and meeting areas. Hope this helped!

  3. If you're asking because you're going on a cruise, then when you get to the ship, before the ship pulls away from the dock, you will have to do a life raft drill where you go from your room with your life vest on to your assigned life raft.  

    Also, while on my cruise in December I noticed that the primary escape routes tended to be the main stairwells and the secondary routes were the staff corridors- but all were well marked.
