  1. IWC making sure people dont kill or hurt whales for food,business, sport or a food company these poeple bring in heaps of money but the whales are engdangered


  2. - Historically the IWC was formed to manage the business of whaling. The well-being of the whales was not a factor. The idea was to manage the stock of whales so that there would always be whales to hunt. The first whale protected was the "right whale". These whales have been hunted for almost 1000 years, and it was clear that there were hardly any left.

    - In the 1960's the countries that had ceased commercial whaling joined the IWC to try to stop other countries from continuing commercial whaling.
