  1. Yes there are appeals from judgments in small claims court.  No, there are no appeals from arbitrations.  If you want to know how to successfuly appeal a judgment, go to law school, then practice for a decade or so and you might get the basics.

  3. I believe the California Small Claims Rules provide as follows:

    A. Lawyers cannot represent parties at trial.

    B. A defendant that loses at trial may appeal and request a trial denovo which is granted and a new trial ensues.

    C. A plaintiff that loses at trial cannot appeal.
