yes. strike the top of ball on its side nearest the cushion.

hold your cue in a vertical position. give it a good sharp tap. be careful you dont over hit or you might damage both your cue and the baize.

i played this shot to pot black and win game 12 years ago and people still talk about it.

i presume you are talking about being angled. when you are snookered by the jaws of the pocket.
