  1. C ;Seasonal wind direction.because 'surface ocean currents' are usually driven by winds only whereas deep ocean currents are driven by density and temperature gradients.


  2. C  As the wind direction changes so does the surface ocean currents.  A good example is the equitorial current off the west coast of Central America.  Strong easterlies produce a westward flowing surface current.  Strong westerlies produce an eastward flowing current.
