In southern CA, its been 95+ degrees, then all of a sudden, its cold and raining the next day?what gives?

There is a system moving in from the Pacific.  With it is the chance for rain and possibly a few thunderstorms.  This is the same system that could be responsible for severe weather tomorrow across portions of the Plains and into the Ohio Valley region on Friday.
