What is the point of your question? Do you really need a list, or are you looking for places to move and want to make sure you can have your ferret?

All places have different requirements. For example, in California you can't have one at all and permits are NOT issued, only to agencies that transport them out of state. Many people believe otherwise, but that is wrong.

New York City - they are illegal. No permits issued.

Many cities in Texas have ferrets banned, or simply not sold in pet shops due to a ban. You would have to check each one of the counties/cities sites and see what the laws are.

I honestly don't know of any places you need a permit - just places where they are illegal outright.
