Why or why not. Also, Is it okay to have one to many in the first place if you are over 21?

  1. You don't get clearance for your behaviors as adults because you are drunk. Whatever mess you make, its yours to deal with when you sober up and you need to set things right. Either you are sorry, or you are not sorry, but "I don't have to be sorry because I was drunk" makes no sense.

Your second question about having one too many...you can actually have as many as you want, remembering that you are responsible for your actions. One too many with family and friends can be kind of fun...but one too many at a work party might not work out so well. One too many and then driving is just not responsible and dangerous and not worth it.

  2. It's your choice to drink in the first place. I don't think it's an excuse. Even though your discretion and motor skills aren't what they normally are, YOU made them that way and it was YOUR choice.

  3. No. It's like drunk driving. Even if you only got behind the wheel because the alcohol lowered your inhibitions, you still chose to drink that much in the first place. And no, I don't think it's OK to have one too many.

  4. no, it's no excuse.  i've been drunk too many times, and your personality doesn't change that much when you're drunk.  it's not like you do things you would never do, you just take things you might do anyway way too far.  if you know you can't handle your liquor, or you know you're irresponsible in the first place, then you shouldn't get drunk.

i get drunk sometimes, but only rarely, and only if i am at home or somewhere else i can stay the night, or i have a guaranteed ride home.  i always stash some cab fare away just in case.

  5. I think it's incredibly dangerous and just plain stupid to allow yourself to get so drunk that you are then vulnerable to people who would do wrong things to you.  This world is not safe for women in the first place, and much less so if you're too wasted to know what's going on and don't have people with you who would watch out for you.

Does that make it okay for someone to take advantage of a drunk, absolutely not, there's no excuse for that, but it does make the drunk stupid for putting themselves in that position.

  6. No one told them to get toasted.

Unless you live under a rock, you should know the consequences of drinking.

  7. Nope. Being drunk does not give you the right to do anything wrong. If that's the case then everyone would be drunk all of the time and do whatever they pleased. Steal your bag? Sorry I was drunk. Hit your kid with my bike, so sorry loaded. Threw you off a bridge, whoops I was drunk at the time and it seemed really funny.

You are responsible for your actions regardless of your state of mind, especially if it's an altered state that you purposefully altered.

Now is it OK to be drunk, sure, you want to pee in public and walk into walls and lie in your own vomit? Have at it, just don't do anything to anyone else while you're that way. Stay home or with your friends at their homes.
