  1. i'm pretty sure you do

  2. No you dont have to toss the ball, you can serve underhand. but those kind of serves are not effective, tossing the ball gives you better serve

  3. Officially, yes. But if you're just practicing or playing for fun, it's ok to bounce the ball on the ground before you hit it.

  4. Yes, overhead tosses are encouraged and mostly used. Sometimes people use underhand tosses, but extremely rarely.

  5. No u Don't, u can also do an underhanded serve where u cant hit it lik a forehand but it can not bounce b4 u hit it

  6. no its not necessary.

'although players usually employ an overhand motion to serve, it is permissible to strike the ball underhanded'

  7. Technically, you can hit the ball any way you want, and it will count, under a couple of conditions. The ball cannot touch the court before you hit it. To be in it must land in the bo on the opposite side of the court. Though you are allowed to hit it underhand, i would definatly suggest an overhand serve, you can generate a lot more power.  It may seem hard at first, but in the future, it definatly pays off.

  8. You don't need to toss it up. So long as it's released from your tossing hand and it doesn't touch the ground, you can hit the ball in any way you want. You can have an underhand serve. Hingis did it in one of the Slams when she got frustrated. It's legal.
