Question:

In terms of ACTION What Does Cotto vs Mayweather Promise ??

People say that Cotto's pressure will be able to beat Mayweather's defense and I highly doubt that. If the fight was to happen, Mayweather will be moving backwards the whole time, and throwing one punch at a time, kind of what he did against De La Hoya. Mayweather will just outpoint Cotto. If this fight Ends in a disappointment what would you say? Will you buy another Mayweather PPV fight?

  1. Everything you could want in a fight.   In Cotto vs Mayweather you have the best boxer, who can fight   vs  the best puncher who can also box.

I don't think Mayweather will just walk through Oscar so easily.   At first I thought it would be easier than the first time.  I'll NEVER understand how Floyd Sr.  could EVER train Oscar to beat Floyd Jr.  Sometimes I want to smack my son's lips to the back of his neck.  But I'll never help someone else kick his @ss.

I wish the De La Hoya rematch never takes place.  I think it will prevent Mayweather-Cotto from ever happening.   Win, Lose or Draw, it will be easy for Floyd to just avoid Cotto if he wins against Oscar this time.

Unless he's fighting Miguel Cotto Im just not interested in seeing Floyd fight anyone.

  2. i believe that mayweather got the speed and power but  Cotto can beat him by playing his own game... instead of following mayweather, cotto should let him be the one attacking... Cotto should put the pressure right on mayweather... Cotto should be patient and wait for the right time to give mayweather his powerful punch... He should not run and let mayweather get annoy with that... i repeat never follow mayweather instead stand and wait for him to attack..

if ever he don't beat the h**l against mayweather, i want another one fight!

  3. I don't see Cotto being able to catch Mayweather. Miguel has a bad chin and more importantly, bad defense, which will REALLY work against him in a fight against someone like Mayweather. The only good opponent Miguel has beaten at welterweight is sugar shane, who isn't nearly as fast as he used to be, but, who, in his prime, was as good as mayweather. Cotto barely beat an aged Sugar so he wont get past a prime floyd. I feel like the fight will look a lot like Hatton-Mayweather did, cept Cotto has more heart and skill than Hatton, so it won't be so embarassing, i mean, i really dont think we'll see Cotto bumping his head into the corners of the ring like Hattdon. The fight will be close, and I wouldn't be surprised if Cotto got the upset but I feel like Cotto will get frustrated eventually and ultimatley give up. The cotto jock-riders will try to say Cotto won unless Floyd wins by KO like he did Hatton. Even some hatton fans still argue that Hatton can beat Floyd if they fought at light welterweight, which just shows how delusion some people are. In the end, the fight will be interesting enough  for me to watch, just for the plain fact that we have the top 2 best welterweights in the world going at it. What's even more interesting is the great contrast in styles. Not only are they the two best welterweights in the world, their styles are completley opposite, which will be VERY interesting. We'll see if potshotting, accuracy and boxing skills beats aggression and rough-housing.

  4. Cotto - presser

    Mayweather - runner

    ...so not much action.

  5. people say that floyd  will beat cotto easy because sugar shane mosley almost beat him and he aint even in his prime but floyd dont fight like sugar shane.  shane mosley is right their to trade shots and he took many from cotto. now floyd isnt about to trade with cotto.

i think if they fight it will be like castillo vs floyd 1 . castillo didnt fight as good as he did the secon time. but cotto is faster  more skills harder puncher so ill give him a better chance then castillo.

  6. what the guy above me said.

  7. Mathew P your comment about Cotto's chin is a little off I believe. He took Mosley and Judah's best shots. He has never been down and was only rocked by hard punching Demarcus Corley and came back to destroy Corely 2 rounds later.

And you cant compare Mosley to Mayweather, with Mosley Cotto had to respect Mosleys power, Mosley also has granite chin and a ton of heart. Mayweather does not. THERES IS NOW WAY!!! Mayweather would be able to take those same shots to the body that Mosley did.

When Oscar had Floyd against the ropes he threw lopping, sloppy punches. Cotto on the other hand will not, If a faster Cotto can trap Mayweather on the ropes like Oscar did, Floyd wont get off the ropes.

But sadly Floyd will probably avoid Cotto and retire, I'm with Galactus in saying I hope the Oscar fight does not happen and Mayweather mans up and fights Cotto.

It cant really be a great slug fest or anything, because if it is exciting then Cotto will be winning. Mayweather cannot win an exciting fight against Cotto. Mayweather will have to make it boring, pop shotting and running the entire 12 rounds.

But Im sure Cotto's body shots will slow Mayweather's legs and Cotto will catch him eventually and put him to sleep.

  8. I think that Floyd would pick him apart one punch at a time. Cotto stands a better chance of beating him than anyone though. Yes I would still buy the PPV's.

  9. I want to see Cotto fight Clottey before he fights PBF. The guy above me, what fight did you watch? Shane rock Cotto a couple times but didn't knock him down. One time Cotto was hurt but they stopped it for water on the floor. Judah rocked Cotto more than 3 times and Cotto low blow him. Torres rocked Cotto and even knocked him down. Corley rocked him. At 140, Cotto didn't want know part of PBF. If these guy would have fought PBF, they would have been destroyed. You right, Mosley is not PBF. PBF is not going to sit there and take shots, show defense and beat you with smarts. I dont think Cotto can get pass Margo. The only way he does, if its payed under table because they want to see him fight PBF. Mosley wants a rematch but Arum dont want and say its pointless. What's wrong, Arum dont think Cotto could pull out another close decision? It's funny how people say pressure is going to beat PBF, it haven't yet. PBF is not looking for knock out but let them come to him. With Cotto weak chin, no defense, coming in unprotected and it wouldn't be hard to knock Cotto out. PBF would do him like he did Hatton. Keep hitting him wit big shots, moving around the ring, win rounds by points. Over time, it will get Cotto tired from chasing him, taking big shots and get TKO or lose by dicision all beat up. All that sounds good, this fighter would beat this fighter because the way he beat that fighter. Dont forget, styles make fightes for the guy above me.
