In terms of fiber optic connectors, are FC-PC compatible with FC-UPC?

Question

I know FC-APC (angled physical contact) are only compatible with eachother, because you cannot get a clean mating without both fibers being angled, but i'm wondering how compatible FC-PC (physical contact) and FC-UPC (ultra physical contact) are with eachother. When selling FC connectors, most companies only specify FC or FC/APC.. which makes me wonder if the standard FC is PC or UPC or if it particularly matters?

Some documentation/proof/credential would also be much appreciated.
