I'll get the info if somebody wants to challenge the #'s but in 2004 I think it was a little more then 50 million people making the list for the top 10 Sporting events watched on TV in the world.

I'm sure it still must be around 50 million people viewing this race on TV.

  1. No, the Indianapolis 500 is the most watched auto race in the world. More than 100 million people watch it annually. I would say Monaco is somewhere in the top 10, but you also have the 24 hours of LeMans, and the Daytona 500 in there as well.

I don't get the Grand Prix of Monaco on TV.

  2. For the last 2 years Brazil has been the most watched race and in 2005 it was Canada. It would be a shame if Monaco is the most watched because it would give a very boring impression of formula 1 racing.

David T. The Indy 500 is not the most watched race in the world. The race is only really shown in america. The Le Mans 24 also has very low viewing figures. Its not a spectator friendly event and wouldnt even be in the top 100 of televised sporting events.

Indy would have a lot but nowhere near the worldwide attention of F1. Back when CART was at its peak it probably was one of the biggest events alright but certainly not anymore.

  3. i dont know about the actual number but yes monoco is usually the most watched race and will be around the top 3 or 4 most viewed sporting event each year,

  4. I believe it has the biggest worldwide audience. I would guess that the Indy 500 used to have a huge worldwide audience as does Le mans. Go Lewis!!

  5. Monaco is the dreamland of all Formula One racing locations.
