Question:

In terms of mileage and "greenness", should I wait for 2009 cars or should I buy a late-season 2008 car?

The leases advertised now (for Hondas, Toyotas, volvos,etc) seem very desirable but my 17 yr. old daughter says to wait for next year's hydrogen based cars to get the best value for my money. Any ideas or suggestions? I will make about $3000 dollars (beyond my loan) once I sell my 2005 subaru outback. Thanks for your help!

  1. Hydrogen based cars are still in development stages.  Anything in the next few years will most likely be expensive and prone to defects.  Buy the car when you need it and the prices are low


  2. You'll have wait a lot longer than the 2009 models for hydrogen fueled cars. And you don't have to buy a hybrid to get great fuel economy.

    It's true that some of the lease deals now being offered by manufacturers, especially Honda, are genuinely good deals. But make sure you understand leasing so that you get the best possible deal. Here's a site that might help:
