In terms of safety, which plane is better- the A380 or the Boeing 747?

In terms of safety, which plane is better- the A380 or the Boeing 747?

Have to wait and see because from what I have read the A380 metal could be weaker so I would go with the 747..

The 747 is a proven airframe... the A380 is too new to tell.  The fact that it failed the initial wing strength test doesn't give me a lot of confidence in Airbus' engineering skills.

They're both equally safe. It just depends on how well they're maintained and flown.

they are both too big, too many lives to lose at one crash.  but its cheaper $$$$ to fly more ppl per flight.
