The closest answer you have given to choose from is A.  To revive the moral authority of the church.  The real point however was more than anything to refute the heretical beliefs of the protestant reformation.  The Council of Trent was formed to fully and clearly define dogmatic and infallible Church teachings.  It was probably the best Council ever conducted by the church in terms of defining all Catholic dogma and doctrine and putting to rest any beliefs contradicting those defined by that council.
