  1. It was a swedish athlete called Ara Abrahamian who competed in the 84kg wrestling and lost to the eventual winner Andrea Minguzzi of italy. He complained saying that the judging by the referee was totally of key and he even shouted at him. His coach said it was all to do about 'politics'. I dunno wat that means but that's basically the story

  2. Ara Abrahamian

  3. Ara Abrahamian, a Swedish wrestler

  4. Ara Abrahamian, a swedish wrestler.

Following a loss in the semi finals of the Greco-Roman 84 kg event at the 2008 Summer Olympics to the eventual winner Andrea Minguzzi of Italy, he and the Swedish coach Leo Mylläri disputed the judges' ruling and Abrahamian had to be restrained by teammates. Mylläri accused the judges of being corrupt. Abrahamian had one hand in the blue zone, which is normally not penalized. The referee initially awarded Abrahamian a point, but after the round assigned the point and the match to Minguzzi. The referees refused to review the recording of the incidences. Abrahamian returned to win his bronze match, but threw away the bronze medal he won in the Greco-Roman category in disgust in a protest over judging in his semifinal bout declaring that he was retiring from the sport saying, "This will be my last match" and "I don't care about this medal. I wanted gold." The International Olympic Committee held a disciplinary hearing on Abrahamian after the incident.  It was decided that Abrahamian would be disqualified and excluded from the Olympic Games due to violating the spirit of fair play.
