In the Coptic Church...?

Question

....there is no divorce. Does anyone think this is unfair, especially for women??

I know many Coptic women that have to deal with all sorts of abuse because the church does not allow them a divorce. And the Coptic men can be such annoying flirts, that's because none of them can leave their wives, so they flirt with other women, have affairs etc...

Does anyone else feel that this cruel and ancient law should be changed??

no divorce (only in some conditions)

its like when i ask why islam said (nakesat 3akl wa deen)...so why God allah create her? and create you and your mother and your sister as long as you're idiots and sinners

and if the guy should marry 4 times ,why you dont you get 4 husbands ?

its not my business ..its the religion  principles  and defenitly there is reasons for that ,and should be respected.

the same in christianity ..its principles and theres reason for that,and should be respected

enough when i tell you how people in your society look at the divorced woman

why indians worship cows? there is reason for that and we should respect their opinions

lolla , I don't think its right to prevent divorce, but anyway , its their religion and we have our religion , and lets keep respecting each other, they have the free to do whatever they want , and we too, unless its hurting others feelings, and ur question is offending Coptic people, so please ask anything else , thanks

no unlike muslims christians look at marriage is a committment. all you guys need is 2 witnesses and when u wanna get divored all u have to do is make the guy say divorce suk it!

In the Coptic Church women can get divorced. If the husband is a cheater, beater or isn't able to have kids. Other than that there shouldn't be any reason to get divorced. Many women choose not to get divorced in fear of their reputation even if those things are going on the in the marriage. I'm against the idea of divorce, marriage is considered one of the 7 holy secrets of the Church. When you get married you take vows in front of god and the church that you will be together until death do you apart. You can't betray a promise you made to god, can you? that would be a sin and that's exactly what divorce is, it's a sin.
