I have read the book but it was long ago and cant remember.

I remember something about some life forms thought that God sneezed it out. But did it actually give you a theory or explanation of how the galaxy/universe came to be?

  2. "Hey, you sass that hoopy Ford Perfect? There's a frood who really knows where his towel is." (Sass: know, be aware of, meet, have s*x with; Hoopy; really together guy; Frood: really amazingly together guy.)

Question was already answered, i just really like the whole importance of the towel thing..

  3. something to do with 42... ... ...

  4. "In the beginning the Universe was created.

This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded

    as a bad move.

Many races believe that it was created by some sort of God,

though the Jatravartid people of Viltvodle VI believe that the

entire Universe was in fact sneezed out of the nose of a being

    called the Great Green Arkleseizure.

The Jatravartids, who live in perpetual fear of the time they

call The Coming of The Great White Handkerchief, are small blue

creatures with more than fifty arms each, who are therefore

unique in being the only race in history to have invented the

    aerosol deodorant before the wheel.

However, the Great Green Arkleseizure Theory is not widely

accepted outside Viltvodle VI and so, the Universe being the

puzzling place it is, other explanations are constantly being

    sought."

    Wonderful stuff.

edit: B.Y.O.B., I have a 27 year-old towel with the relevant text about towels on it.  "Hoopy Frood" did cause some perplexity when it was laid out on an French beach.  Hmm, that might be a rare item, now.
