  1. If you are not a Hindu, the rigid caste system treats you as a "achhoot" or untouchable. But no one does that in Modern India.

    However, if you get married to an Indian, you adopt his caste automatically.

    Hindu is a religion that welcomes all religions with an open heart. All you have to do is adopt it and adapt to it.

    Hope that answers your Q.

  2. Brahmins = priestly caste

    Kshatriya = Warriors and Royalthy

    Third caste = professionals, businessmen and merchants

    Sudras = Farmers and labourers

    So the Indian caste system would be used in the same way as applying to foreigners...If you were a catholic bishop, you would be classified as a brahmin..If you were a doctor or teacher, you would be classified as belonging to the third caste...Prince William and Harry would be Kshatriyas and all farmers and labourers and domestic workers would be sudras......

    I want to make it very clear that the Indian caste system has been grossly misunderstood and has been used by enemies of India to malign Indian culture..The caste system was only put in place to organise and arrange society and NOT to create a fascist hierarchy, which is commonly thought.  If you analyse the ancient Greek and Japanese societies they had what was identical to the Indian caste system......

  3. not percieved in the caste system - the caste system will view u as a visitor and treat you with respect and hospitality
