  1. The Ring extended Bilbo's life SUBSTANTIALLY.  Assuming it's Bilbo would be correct.  Smeagol was of hobbit-kind, but he lost his "humanity" centuries earlier so he shouldn't count.

  2. yeah im pretty sure its bilbo, they dont really consider gollum a hobbit anymore hence he has lost his original hobbit name, started with s, cant remember what it is..............

  3. I'm really not sure, but wouldn't it be Gollum?  Except he had changed so much, he wasn't a real hobbit anymore.

  4. Bilbo Baggins. The day they left for Gray Havens was his birthday, when he turned 131. He boasted to Fordo how he passed The Old Took that day. It was kind of unfair since he had the ring for a long time which made time not pass as long as he possessed it. Smeagol is older but he wasn't a hobbit after he got the ring. He was some kind of twisted hybird.

  5. Bilbo Baggins was the oldest Hobbit in history at a ripe old age of 131 being his last year Tolkein recorded. He left for the Grey Havens at that age, and as his death was not recorded within Middle earth, there is no telling how old he was when he died, but it is certain he was far older than any Hobbit before him - and perhaps even after.

I can understand your confusion about Gollum, as he did seem to be a Hobbit and lived hundreds of years. But I do not think that he counts, as it explains in the books that he was a "Hobbit-like" creature - not a Hobbit - and his kind lead a lifestyle unatural to Hobbits, for he and his family lived on a lake and often traveled in boats. That was something Hobbits mistrusted. Also, the records written by Tolkein still show without a doubt that Bilbo was the oldest of all the Hobbits in their history in Middle Earth, and as he created this entire world, I'm sure he knows the truth of it.

    I hope I helped you out :)

  6. Bilbo.  The Old Took lived to be 130... at the end of the last book, Bilbo is 131 when he leaves with Gandalf and the elves.
