In the Lord of the Rings ( the book), did people acknowledged that Eowyn killed the Witch-King?

I don't remember the book quite well, but it seems like nobody ( except Merry) knew. Faramir seems to be patronizing and not believe her when she told him about her experience.

Of course, I could be very wrong. Could you tell me what really happened?

  1. Yes it is, in the scene where Aragorn must heal her from the hurt of the Black Breath. Faramir is not patronizing so much as worried about her continued unrest despite accomplishing that feat.
