  11. No, however, a Lieutenant Commander is an equal rank. The US Coast Guard uses the same rank as the Navy.

    Both are considered 04 and everything else is the same. The rank of Major is for Army, Air Force and Marines.

    If you think Navy Officer rank is tough, try learning the enlisted ones....The Navy loves to be different, and its is the other branches that have trouble figuring them out....I'm former Navy.
