  1. American way count the total medals, which means: gold = silver = bronze. So I guess winning a bronze is most cost effective!  LOL!!

  2. It's an opinion, different countries do if differently, there has never been a clear winner, some people just cannot accept that though, and I think we all know why.

    I would rather have 49 gold, 50 silver, 50 bronze.....than........ 50 gold, 0 silver and 0 bronze,

I guess some people would rather have 3 gold, 0 silver and 0 bronze..........than.........2 gold, 100 silver and 100 bronze...not me.

  3. Gold, the other ones are losers that's why the medal count its based on gold winners

  4. The answer to your question, is that there isn't one.....some countries measure distance in kilometers, some measure in miles, but the important thing to remember is neither is right or wrong? They both serve the same purpose, even if they represent different lengths.  Same thing in the medal count, some people want only the golds to matter, others see that it's important to include all of the medals to get an accurate view of just how good or bad a country is doing.

  5. i think having more gold is great but having more in total is the best. cause u tried ur best.

  6. gold, now can we move onto a different question?

  7. more gold so china won but still i think more medals wod be better and usa has more medals so that wod be better

  8. It's totally opinion based and anyone that tells you differently is full of it.

  9. it depends. if one team has like 100 total and another team has 20 gold, i would say the 100 total is better

  10. I think it is based on the number of athletes for a country, then take the  percent of those athletes that medal then also take what percent of those that medal took gold to see who is the top country. for example, if one country had 100 athletes, but only 20 of them took a medal but 19 of those medal athletes were gold, then take another country that only sent 50 athletes, but they had 35 medals but of the 35, 10 were gold, I would think the country with 50 athletes win b/c they had the greater percent of medal winners even though the other country had more golds, they also had a lot more loser's.

  11. More Gold is a lot better. Gold means you're a champion. In sports, people only care about champions. Just like in the NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL. If you don't win a championship then you don't get the respect, even if you're finished second every year. People usually call them chokers.

  12. No, it is based on fact ! The Gold medal is awarded to the Olympic Champion, there is only one Olympic champion in each event, there is not a Olympic Champion grade 2 and Olympic Champion grade 3.

Obviously the Gold medal is the more important one.

  13. why is your name jackie chan, if you hate chinese bish

  14. The most golds, unless you are American and then you can use any combination you like to try and put yourselves on top of the medal table.

  15. More Gold unless the the overall medal count vastly outnumbers the count that has the most Gold medals

  16. More is better said the Polygamist

  17. IMO...more gold

  18. If you think anyone really cares who "you" think is better, more gold or overall, your sadly mistaken.

Nobody gives a hoot, it's all subjective.  tally them up however you want.

There is no 'fact" that gold is better and people that say that are full of it.
