In the Olympics what does 'REL' mean?

I was watching the bmx riding and it said on the results table DNF wich i know means did not finish, but next to someone else it said REL does anyone know what it means

REL means RELegated ... which is a penalty consisting of a loss of position, points or time, depending on the type of race.  It may be assessed against a rider, a team, or both.
