    Search Optimization -  the process of choosing targeted keyword phrases related to a site, and ensuring that the site places well when those keyword phrases are part of a Web search.

    Impressions - A single instance of an online advertisement being displayed.

    ad units - Uniform US measure for display advertising: one column (2 1/16 inch) wide by one inch deep, with 1/8 inch gutter between columns.

    rich media - Rich media is a term for advanced technology used in Internet ads, such as streaming video, applets that allow user interaction, and special effects.

    ad serving - the delivery of ads by a server to an end user's computer on which the ads are then displayed by a browser and/or cached. Ad serving is normally performed either by a Web publisher, or by a third-party ad server. Ads can be embedded in the page or served separately.
