  1. its absolutely different letters..:)

    pronunciation is different..

    "E" its more like  "yeah"

    and  "э" its like the first sound in "ethnic"  


  2. I believe the main difference between the two is palatalization (adding the Y sound before another sound)...

    Е (е) is pronounce /je/, that is like the "ye" in "yet"*

    Э (э) is pronounced /e/, like the "e" in "bed"*

    *The IPA symbol for the vowel /e/ represents a sound that is not exactly like the E in "bed" or "yet", but more like the A in "play" before you get to that Y sound at the end.
