In the South, where does the dirt turn red?

Since it's different than in the north, where does it change, and how? is it gradual, or is it balck one minute and red the next? and where are the boundaries?

  1. depending on how much iron is in the soil will tell you where it is red , soil changes color in different places depending on the mineral content and sand and clay content not just in the south. i have seen red soil in northern states as well as southern states and i have seen red soil with black soil right next to it


  2. new jersey has red soil. it is clay content.

  3. We all know the answer for this ?. Lets forget about the North. This is a gradual change over time. My first guess is Global Warning. Blame El Nino, and the midwest flood of 1993. However, the best answer would bears are attracted to menstraution.
