In the State of Ohio what is law enforcement using to nab speeders?

I see them standing outside of their car aiming some kind of radar gun and then throw it in the back of their seat, jump in the drivers seat like Roscoe from the Dukes of Hazzard flash their lights and speed off. lol.

  1. Depending on the department's finances, older Y and K bands are still in use, but the larger cities have switched over to the new X band. This is the new "instant on" that gives no warnings on radar detectors.

    I will also add that as of last year, photo cameras are in place and working for both intersections ( red lights) and on the highways ( speeding). They were tested and used in California and Florida and are now approved in Ohio. You dont get stopped or even know you were photographed. You get a nice shot of your car with the date, time and speed superimposed on it with a bill.



    It is getting high tech now and VERY expensive to speed or run red lights.
