In the Twilight Saga, does James love Victoria?

I've been wondering this for a while. It states the they are MATES but then again, James never showed any genuine feelings toward her and he seemed like he was using her. Victoria did love him, however, but I'm not sure if he returned the feeling. Also, in Eclipse, Edward does tell her that James never loved her. What do you think?

No he probably has strong feelings for her, but I don't think he loved her. Victoria loved him though..

Well i am pretty sure that James didnt really loveee victoria. they were just like mates and in the same coven. because edward does say that he never loved her. and i think that James just wanted her as a part of his coven so he said that he loved her.

but i do know that she loved him.

Yes James loved Victoria, even if he didn't show it very well.  Being "mates" implies that they loved eachother and Stephanie Meyer said so in an interveiw.

there are so many different ways you could take it, but because you never get to see james' point of view or really victoria's point of view, you never really get to see if they TRULY were in love. i took it as victoria loved him and he didn't really have any other option than to take her as his mate because he didn't really have an option at that point. i think that he may have loved her but not in the way that she loved him, but that's just my opinion.
