  1. You can call yurself what you want, so long as there is no intention to fraud.

    This may be the case with actors or women in the process of changing their surnames from that of ther father to that of their husband.

    You would certainly not be allowed to hold two passports at the same time under different names, however. (Or even under the same name - I've tried it). A bank or credit card company would similarly not be too happy about a customer running different accounts under different identities. In each case it begs the question why you would (legitimately) want to. It does happen - some of the 9/11 bombers had multiple passports, nuff said.

    If you don't like being called Arbuthnot Pratt, or whatever, change your name by deed poll to your preferred alias and then apply for your passport etc.

    Not sure about sentence - but a cautionary note:  The Irish agitator and broadcaster William Joyce (Lord Haw Haw) was hung for treason after WW2 - even though he was not a citizen of the UK, becuse he had once held a British passport.
