In the U.S., do you think guys who drive VW Jetta's are wannabe Europeans?

I notice that men who drive VW Jetta or VW Golf tend to be white yuppies. I'm wondering if they're making an unconscious statement about "being European" and "being white".

  1. NO, just people that don't quite understand the economics of sending their money over seas and what it does for our U.S. economy when they buy foreign made vehicles, and people caught up in the hype that foreign made cars are better (don't get me wrong the Germans are top shelf when it comes to their cars but that's Benz not VW)

  2. i don't think that. my fiancee and i both have VW jettas. he's pretty buff (marine corps) and tan. not a white yuppie at all. his is a black 2008 wolfsburg edition.

  3. I have an even better question: does everyone who drives a Japanese car want to be Japanese, swing a katana and drink sake?

Japanese cars outnumber German makes in the US by about 1,000 to 1.

It's still a free country last time I checked. When you buy American, you should look under the hood and see where most of the parts come from.
