I just started getting into the whole UFC and MMA scene and I just wanted to know the difference between a tko and a ko.

  1. Ref stoppage due to a cut is also a TKO

  2. KO- Win because you knocked the opponent out cold, unconscience

TKO- Referee stops the fight because your oppepnt can no longer defend himself.

    Counts the same

  3. A tko is when a fight is stopped by the referee and a ko is when someone is knocked unconscious but for all purposes it still amounts to the same thing.

  4. K.O. is obvious, the guy gets hit, the guy falls down, the guy wakes up in hospital.

T.K.O. is when the fight is stopped because a fighter was getting clobbered and the ref stops it before he is in risk of getting any serious injury.

On occasion a fighter will still pass out even after the ref calls it. Also, more often than not, a T.K.O. is called when the fighter is already in defense on the ground. Most K.O.s occur when a fighter goes from a standing position to a not standing position.

Good luck with all you do. Keep your hands up.

  5. TKO pretty much the person isnt out, the ref saves them b4 they get wrecked, KO, is liek street stuff(or UFC when the ref doesnt come in on time) where the guy actually its out completely

  6. A TKO( Technical Knock Out) is when the Ref stops the fight cuz the fighter can't intellegently defend him self. A KO( Knock Out) is pretty self explanitory. The man falls like a sack of potatoes and is motionless.
