  1. I think copper is £1000 per tonne. You need a lot of scrap to make a living. Certain types of copper and maybe other metals is environmentally bad and has to be melted down carefully. I am thinking Berrylium Copper. I think it gives of Arsenic gas.

  2. They are generally in £ per tonne: Check here;

  3. I work in a scrap yard and can advise that prices differ from yard to yard. They can also fluctuate on a daily basis. There are also a multitude of varying grades and some grey areas. If you get stuck e-mail me and I will try to advise accordingly.

  4. Look it up through google.

    "scrap metal prices"

  5. these prices fluctuate daily.  As of June 13 for full truck loads

Old Mixed Aluminium 510.01 MT UK

Old Yellow Brass  2006.04 MT UK

No.2 Scrap Copper 3218.73 MT UK

    Mixed Lead 691.35 MT UK

    Nickel Scrap 10880.20 MT UK

    No.2 Steel  211.65 MT UK

    Stainless Scrap 1371.36 MT UK

Old Mixed Zinc Scrap 612.01 MT UK

  6. Money for nothing?

Scrap yard prices are 25-50% of Market value (copper market value £7,600 per ton gets you £3.80 a kilo).

Aluminium isn't worth the bother unless you own a truck.

Copper is worth up to £3.80 a kilo but where there's muck there's brass, brass = money.

Only worth 1/2 as much as copper but it's more readily available and comes in denser forms (taps).

Any lead you get is worth  carrying but I wouldn't go hunting for it.

  7. It really depends on the type of metal and how many kg you have.

    1. Copper is the highest

    2. aluminum

    3. stainless steel and steel

    4. cast iron

I do it here in the states and trust me it is worth it!  Even the US government is scraping out all there all plain graveyard because of the metal increase.
