I earn around £13,500 p.a. (I know it's not a lot but I am only young!!) and just wondering if this would be classed as a low income for council tax purposes.

Thanks

  1. You can go on your councils website and do a benefit calculator, you put in your details and it will tell you if you are entitled to any benefits like council tax benefit ect. If you have children and get WTC or CTC that makes a difference aswell.

  2. no its classed as middle income. low incone is 8999 and under.

  3. our council states you have to have a total household income of 12, 500 pounds to qualify for reduction in c.tax and housing benefit

  4. It's not that staright forward. It is worked out depending on a formula that takes into account your personal circumstances. We would need to whether you had children or a disability etc and also your council tax amount

If you live alone you get a 25 % discount
