My Nephew is staying with us for a week, he's arriving later today. Sometimes he likes to watch tv, what sorts of programmes would a 4 year old like to watch in the UK?

We're both from Japan, and he only speaks Japanese, the only English word he can say is " Fankoo " x]

So are there any shows that don't have too much speech, or simple speech so he's got the idea of what is going on?

Please help me out Mum's and Dad's (= xx

  1. the only english word he can say is "Fankoo" X which means?

  2. I don't live in the UK, but when I was there, I saw that a lot of kids programms were on on BBC2, in the morning (CBeebies) or something. They had a whole range of kids programs, like Blues Clues & Dora The Explorer, where you don't really need to know a lot of English, just watch the screen. If you have Sky, then it shouldn't be a problem. They have loads of great kids tv series'

Fankoo - aww, too cute =P

  3. Do you have Freeview? CBeebies (one of the freeview channels which you also get with any package that lets you watch digital TV) has a wide range of programs for young children with lots of colourful characters that he will probably enjoy watching. These programs are aimed specifically at young children so all the programs will contain simple easy to understand language. He'll probably be able to work out what's going on very fast anyway from watching any of the programs on that channel. Kids his age tend to pick up new languages incredibly fast!

  4. Try Pokemon or Ben 10 loads of action not much talking..my 4 year old girl loves them.  she also likes storm hawkes and Batman but all of these are only available on the Sky or cable channels..
