I'm so frustrated with my HP R607 camera at the moment, as it won't allow me to use any SD cards, and I can't be going out to places and limited to only 14 photos with bad quality.

Are there any great digital cameras that fufil all of these things I need it to do:

Face Detection (of at least 10 people at any angle),Wide Angle lens, quality lens, Very good quality CCD sensor, Ease of use with a wide range of options, High ISO without grain or noise in low-light conditions(this is a must),Very good battery li-ion life(or could use rechargable AA/AAA batteries I don't mind so long as the battery lasts long), Picture quality is great, with near human-eye reproduction and life-like skin tones and wide range of vibrant colours, High optical zoom(at least X5), Optical and Digital stabilsation(it could have just optical though),Capable of shooting DVD quality video, 7MP at least, Big LCD screen (2.5 inch at least), SD & SDHC compatible and at least 7fps continuous shooting.

  1. Would you also like the moon on a stick?

You could check out Steve's Digicams and the Reviews section of CNET.co.uk.

Kodak Easyshare C875 has 8 million pixels, 5X zoom, I don't know about battery life and low light performance.

The Fuji F range have amazingly good Super CCD sensors which can shoot at ISO 3200 without grain! The battery life and image quality is very good. F40 - 8 MP, F50 - 12 MP.

The lens has 3X zoom. Li-ion battery.

    Also: Canon Powershot A700, A590,

I guess you need to decide what is most important and focus on that. But probably the camera which most satisfies you requirements would be Panasonic Lumix DMC FX35.

25MM 10X wide angle telephoto lens.

    Good luck in your quest

  2. You won't find any camera that satisfies all the criteria that you mention. Your best bet is to go to http://www.dpreview.com/ and do some more research there.

  3. I am a very keen armature photographer and have the Cannon EOS 350 D which is a very good camera easy to use even for a beginner as well as people like me you can use cards up to 1 or 2 GB in it it has it's own built in battery pack which come with recharger etc built in flash i would highly recomend it for more info go to http://www.canon.co.uk/for_home/product_... the cost of one is around £350
