  1. If you pass a test in an automatic car you can only drive an auto. If you pass in a manual, you can drive either a manual or an auto.

  2. There is in most countries around the world, but i think in all cases, the manual license allows you to drive both whereas the auto doesn't

  3. I don't live there...but I can't see there being two different kinds when the rules should be the same with any vehicle on the road.     There should only b one licence for the car....maybe a different one for a large truck to drive.

  4. In america, you seem to be able to drive anything with little licencing. Not so for the EU.

  5. Yes there is. Automatic Licence permits you to drive only Auto-Transmission vehicles, but Manual Licence allows you to drive all sorts of transmissions. The only thing that matters is like, Here in Malaysia, with a car driving licence, you can already legally drive commercial vehicles such as the buses and vans, but can you do the same in any other countries?

  6. Yes.

There is a licence that is Automatic only and a full licence that covers both manual and automatic.

  7. on a uk driving licence if you pass your test in a manual car then your legally entitled to drive a manual or automatic transmission however if you passed in an auto transmission you must re sit your test in a manual to be able to drive one

  8. tell the drunken numpty, this yank can drive a stick. in fact, I can do it in a left or right hand drive vehicle.

edit--thanks for the thumbs down! the drunken fool was re-writing his answer, as I was writing mine. additionally, in the States, when taking a road test in an automatic, it is at the discretion of the DMV test instructor to attach an automatic only restriction. it is rare, but I have seen it done..

  9. Yes there is. If you pass a test on an automatic then you cannot drive a manual car. If you pass a test on a manual then you can also drive an automatic.
