I'm after a piece of hardwood, oak, ash, mahogony panel etc about 2' x 3' for a plaque. Can anyone suggest an online UK company or somewhere in the Walsall / Lichfield area?

Many thanks.

  1. Go to google local search or yell.com. Look for timber merchant not building supplies.

  2. You could try these guys;

    It is a relatively small piece, though - you could try ordering it through a local joinery firm.

    Alternatively if you use veneered board (with a hardwood lipping to match) - which may be better for your purposes - you could go to most of the better builder's merchants. Bear in mind if you do want it solid you won't get a piece that size - you will need to joint it up from narrower boards, with the risk of it splitting or warping.

  3. Look in the Yellow Pages for a timber merchant.
