I don't know if you would have to pay for courses or if you applied to school or a college as a mature student. I would be grateful for any advice from someone who has tried this in the past .

As you will see I have been out of school for a long time and everything has changed since my school days

  1. Just don't wear short trousers.

  2. You have to do it at college and it's quite expensive. If you were doing...science say, for example. That costs about £150-£200. Most things are cheaper than though. It's obviously to pay the tutors. Pick up a booklet from your local college and it'll have prices for all the courses in there. There's loads of adults who do GCSEs actually. My mum did hers when I was younger and the only people left on the course at the end were the adults because all the kids who were re-sitting theirs from school dropped out.

    Hope this helps :)

  3. You go to college. It might cost you, but you could do them. Best idea would be to go to the college you wish to do the course at and ask them or look at their website

  4. Definitely! It's so easy to get on a course. I know an 81 year old woman who passed 3 GCSEs last year. There are loads of options available and some not very expensive. Search online for your nearest college.

  5. yes it is night collage

  6. Yes, it is perfectly possible. You will need to go to your local FE college and enrol on a course there. It will probably cost you a bit, but not an awful lot and they will offer a wide range of courses. I know a couple of people who have done this - one who did Astronomy for fun, and another who did a course in sailing and was then told that he could take the GCSE if he wanted - which was in 2 weeks time. He got an A.

  7. You can take GCSE at any age. There was a chap on the TV the other week who got a Phd at 91. Pick up the Further Education leaflet at the library they have courses starting in September GCSE's included.
