  1. yes

  2. Yes, the effect is more pronounced the nearer you get to the poles, i.e it is to do with longitude, not latitude.

  3. The USA is a big place.  In New England, the seasons are similar to those in Europe.  As you go further South, the difference in the length of the days becomes less.  In California, days are still longer in summer - but not much.

  4. If you don't know the answer its not a silly question!  I've never thought about asking it but thanks I learnt something new today.

  5. Yes, in the UK it's the only way you can tell the difference between summer and winter.

  6. yes..r u stupid!!

  7. Yes, the Summer Solstice is June 21 which is the longest day of the year.  We have about 12 hours of light and 12 of dark.  After June 21, the days become shorter a few minutes each day, culminating into the shortest day of the year, the winter equinox, where there is only about 10 hours of light.

  8. Dependent on which latitude they will have exactly the same as the UK. The same line of latitude in the US wil have the same daylight to night ratio as the part of the UK on the same line of latitude.

  9. No, they just get the same as us. 24 jours in the day. Duh
