In the USA has anybody ever received a Government Grant ?

I want to expand a animal shelter in my town they are always over crowded and need a larger building to house all the animals they get.

There are grants and loans.

I know 2 guys that drove daily between Leadville,Colorado and Vail,Colorado to work.Now being the true entrepreneurs they were they applied and received a grant.They each received $50k to study why dandelions only grew on one side of the road.

This comes from the stranger than fiction files but a very true story.

I'm not sure but i think it would be classed as a loan to be paid back over a certain period of time try getting some sponsorship you might be surprised at the results good luck
