  1. Most supermarkets will give you time and a half for sunday work and usually time and a half for bank holidays with an extra day holiday. Think its called day in lieu. I worked for safeway and then for morrisons when they took over and both companies did it the same way. I think both tesco and sainsburys are the same.

  2. It is up to the employer whether they pay enhanced rates for weekend working.  Generally if the workplace is not unionised...you get nothing.

If it is private industry, you may get something extra if the union have negotiated it on your behalf.  If it is public service employment, then you get time and a half for Saturday working and double time for Sundays because these are national rates negotiated with the trade unions.

    If you are against unions....swallow.

  3. In some jobs you do and in some you don't. Depends on the company.

  4. well it depends on where you work, and on the type of place

on sundays in some jobs you get time and a half or double pay, but on bank hol's you should get time and half or double pay if you dont recive them you'll get a day in (LT) lute time - holiday pay

  5. Morrisons gives you time and a half for Sundays. I'm not sure about Bank Holidays though.

  6. sunday no, bank holidays sometimes depends where you work, its normally time and a half

  7. I bloody don't.

  8. I used to work at Tesco and we got paid double on Sundays. Some people don't get that though, it depends on where you work. You usually get time and a half on bank holidays wherever you work though

  9. If you worked in the Care sector Sunday would be just another day.

  10. only if its over and above your contracted number of hours for the week, otherwise, unfortunately not

  11. Some do and some now dont pay any extra

you need to check with your manager
