Following production of the TV advertisement for Abbey National, part of McLaren sponsors Santander group, featuring an Airfix kit of Lewis Hamilton and his McLaren F1 Grand Prix car, Hornby Airfix expect to be releasing a production kit in October.

Full details are still to be advised as the kit was originally produced as a one-off modelling project specifically for the advertisement.

The production kit is expected to build a detailed model of the 2008 Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 Grand Prix car, plus an accurate Lewis Hamilton driver figure, produced from a 3-dimensional scan of Lewis himself!

Unlike the advert however the completed model is unlikely to come to life!
