  1. The shire is basically a quiet countryside, very calm, full of wildlife and greenery. the people are simple, and very intune to the nature around them.

  2. The Shire is a peaceful place, separate from the wars and struggles of the outside world. The hobbits lived in an upper-middle class, which made the Shire absent of slums etc. Besides the occasional invasion of wolves or black riders (the only two events in the past hundred or more years) they live there lives with relative ease. Tolkien compared hobbits with the average englishman of his day.  Except the Tooks who enjoy mystery and excitement, the Shire-folk dislike adventure or anything that might upset their schedule.

  3. A small lovely peaceful place. I would like to live there.

  4. Exactly...in YOUR own words.
