In the book Grapes of Wrath By Steinbeck..?

So I've read through the book a second time and I still can't find the answer to my question. Here's the question: What does Ma Joad give Rose of Sharon to help her get over her fears about her baby? All I can think of is the words she told Rose of Sharon.

Ma pierced Rose of Sharon's ears and gave her earrings to wear, saying that it was bad luck not to be pierced before she had her baby. She also gave her milk on a couple of occasions but I think the earrings is the answer you are looking for.
