I know that the point of fair trade is to ensure farmers in poor countries get more profit however in trade that isn't 'fair' why do these people get less money?

  1. It's because few people are farmers now.

  2. They are the capitalists and the non-working Government, or shall I say blind Government. During harvest seasons, farm products cost low, and who dictates the prices, it's the capitalists. Why? Simply because lacking of support to buy products by the Government gives the chance for capitalists to dictate prices. Vegetables industries are being killed by smuggled goods. Prices of fertilizers and insecticides are too high. Government officials are being involved in fertilizer scam. Here, the farmers suffer, and who are left to blame?

  3. That is not the point of trade. The point of trade is to acquire goods and services from those who can produce them more efficiently than one can domestically.
