I know the general rules but i want to know more. Does the banker turn his cards face upwards to reveal if he has blackjack or not? What happens to people who dont take insurance but know from other players that the banker has blackjack?

  1. Q: Does the banker turn his cards face upwards to reveal if he has blackjack or not?

A: The dealer only turns his cards up if DOES have blackjack.

Q: What happens to people who don't take insurance but know from other players that the banker has blackjack?

A: Nobody has prior knowledge. Everyone finds out at the same time if the dealer has blackjack.

= I actually never see anyone take insurance. Everyone seems to have been told that it is a sucker bet. However, if people already have a blackjack almost everyone takes "even money" thinking it is a prudent play. Interestingly "even money" is identical to taking insurance and the odds are identical as any other insurance bet. Yet somehow people don't see it that way.

= Actually, a careful card counter will take insurance when it is in his favor.

  2. The only time dealer asks if anyone wants insurance when his face card is ace.You can insure up to half of what ur betting. If ur betting $10 you can insure up to $5.If dealer has like an ace or queen on top he doesnt ask bout ins but checks (puts a corner of his cards under special light to see what color it turns) if he has blackjack.Yes he turns his cards to reveal blackjack, but as i mentioned he checks and he knowsx if he got it.If u don't take ins you loose ur hand, unless u had blackjack as well.If u got blackjack and his face card is ace he would ask u if u want even money. So u can get even $ or wait to see if he has a blackjack. If he doesnt have blackjack then u get 1.5 times ur bet but if u both have it and u didn't take even $ then it's a push and then u don't loose and u don't win.If u got any other questions let me know.

I teach people how to play and win blackjack and simple rules and what to do at certain  times.

  3. When the dealer has an ace for an up card he asks the players if they want insurance.

Players who want insurance will normally place an additional bet equal to half their original bet on the insurance line. The one exception to that is when a player has a blackjack in his own hand, in which case he may simply tell the dealer "even money" and the delaer will pay him his original bet and collect his cards. Players who do not want insurance simply indicate they do not want it by saying "no", shaking their head, or waving their had in the same signal use to indicate you want to stay instead of hit.

Once all the insurance bets, if any, are placed the dealer checks his hole card to see if it is a face card or a ten. (Depending on the casino this may done with a small mirror built into the table or by peeking at the card.) If it is, the dealer displays it and collects the bets from anyone who did not have a blackjack and did not take insurance. All other bets are pushes. (In some casinos the dealer will drag the original bet from the betting square and place it beside the insurance bet.)

If the dealer's hole ard is not a face card or a ten he collects all the bets from the insurance line and play of the hand continues normally. (The dealer does not expose his hole card if he does not have a blackjack.)

<<<What happens to people who dont take insurance but know from other players that the banker has blackjack?>>>

Anyone who did not take insurance, for whatever reason, pushes if he has a blackjack and loses otherwise. The player will never know from other players if the dealer has a blackjack.

Note that this is the general rule for most common blackjack rules used in casinos. There are other variations where the rules would be different. For example, in "double exposure" blackjack the dealer does not offer insurance since both of his first two cards are already exposed.

  4. When the dealer draws an ace as his upcard, the first thing he/she will do before any play continues, is offer insurance.

Player are allowed typically to wager UP TO one half their exhisting bet onto the insurance feild.  In some casinos you are allowed to wager for the full amount, though this is very uncommon.  It is not required that you place insurance for the full amount it is a bet completely independant of the game.

Once all player have made their insurance decisions and placed bets (if any) the dealert will check for blackjack.

If the dealer has blackjack he will immediately flip his cards, and collect all of the bets in order as usual, if a player has a bet in the insurance circle, they will collect the initial wager and pay the insurance bet 2:1

if the dealer does not have blackjack, he/she will collect all of the insurance bets and continue play as normal.

If a player has blackjack, the dealer is showing an ace, and blackjack pay 3:2 on the table you are at, you will be offered "even money" even money is the same thing as taking insurance but skips the process of collecting and betting altogether by simply paying you the amount you will win regardless of weather you take insurance and the dealer has blackjack or you get payed 3:2 and you lose the insurance bet.  You will simply be payed 1:1 for your bet before the dealer checks for blackjack.

The insurance bet has a house advantage larger than the exhisting game of blackjack, therefore it is viewed as a sucker bet.  Do not take insurance or accept even money unless you wnat to hurt your odds.  Leave insurance plays to the card counters.

The insurance bet on a spanish 21 table is the single worst bet in the casino, since all tens are removed from the decks in spanish 21, yet the payout remains at 2:1 the house advnatage is pushing 25%!!

  5. No he don't turn his cards face up and the people who don't have the insurance lose there money
