In the course of genealogy, how is the daughter of my grandfather's brother related to me?

  3. She is a first cousin to your parent... and since you are not of the same generation, you are one generation removed.

    First cousin once removed.  

    siblings share parents

    1st cousins share grandparents

    2nd cousins share gr grandparents

    3rd cousins share gr gr grandparents

    If you are not the same generation, you get into "removed".

  4. 2nd cousin, unless you are in Mississippi then it would be your wife and/or Mother!

  5. Your grandfathers's brother is your great uncle so his daughter would be your 2nd cousin once removed I believe.

    Just call her a cousin
